His Eminence Abune Yishak, Archbishop of Wolayta Diocese, Lays the Cornerstone for the New St. Michael Church Building in Areka City

His Eminence Abune Yishak, Archbishop of the Wolayta Diocese, today laid the cornerstone for the construction of a new church building—Debre Selam St. Michael Church—in Areka City, located in Boloso Sore District under the Wolayta Diocese.
On the occasion of the Feast of St. Michael, which is celebrated today, His Holiness visited the Debre Selam St. Michael Church in Areka and presided over the day’s spiritual program. He delivered a gospel message, gave a pastoral exhortation, and offered blessings to the many faithful who gathered for the celebration.
Finally, His Eminence explained that the current church building has become too small to serve the growing number of congregants. Based on a formal request submitted by the parish council, a decision was made to construct a new church building. As a result, the cornerstone was laid today to mark the beginning of the construction. His Holiness called upon all members and bodies to participate in the project through unity and support.
