An unidentified person has died after a beam of wood used for finishing work collapsed in Minjar Shenkora, North Shewa Zone, Amhara Region, the Woreda Communication Department announced.
The church was holding its annual celebration of the Queenship of the Virgin Mary when the beam of wood used for finishing work collapsed while the church was being visited.
The head of the Woreda Communication Department, Ato Nurlah Keder, announced that the death and injuries occurred.
They said that an unknown number of people have died in the accident, adding that the work of extracting the victims trapped in the debris is continuing.
