🕯️ Holy Synod Opening Address (May 2025)

During the opening of the 2025 Holy Synod, Patriarch Abune Mathias underscored the need to address internal challenges within the Church through discussion and adherence to canonical order. He urged archbishops and bishops to resolve the growing issues based on the traditions of the Church. The patriarch emphasized the importance of unity, quoting 1 Corinthians 1:10:


🕊️ Easter 2025 Message (April 2025)

In his Easter message, Patriarch Abune Mathias emphasized the profound and boundless love of the divine and the hope symbolized by the Easter celebration. He stressed the paramount importance of standing united in solidarity for the greater glory of God and the overall well-being of humanity. The patriarch called for prayers for peace and security, ensuring the welfare of all humankind. 


Christmas Eve Message (January 2025)

In his Christmas Eve address, Patriarch Abune Mathias called for peace and reconciliation amid ongoing conflicts and natural disasters affecting Ethiopia. He emphasized the importance of unity and compassion, urging the faithful to support those in need and to work towards healing and harmony in the nation. His message highlighted the significance of Christ's birth as a symbol of hope and renewal. 

Lenten Message (February 2025)

As Lent commenced, Abune Mathias urged the faithful to dedicate the fasting period to strengthening peace, togetherness, and mutual support. He emphasized that beyond abstaining from food and drinks, the faithful should refrain from verbal abuses and arguments. The patriarch called on individuals to assist the needy, reconcile disagreements, and adhere to peaceful deeds, embodying the spirit of Lent through actions of compassion and unity. 


New Year Address (September 2024)

In his message for the New Ethiopian Year, Abune Mathias called on Ethiopians to welcome the year with renewed conscience and spirit. He urged the nation to resolve conflicts through dialogue, embrace unity in the face of differences, and seek reconciliation in disagreements. The patriarch emphasized that renewing one's inner self is essential for economic, social, and spiritual development, highlighting the importance of introspection and collective responsibility.

Demera Celebration Message (September 2024)

During the annual Demera celebration, commemorating the finding of the true cross, Abune Mathias urged Ethiopians to resolve problems through peaceful means, equality, and love, in accordance with the teachings of the Cross. He emphasized that the words of the Cross depict peace, love, and unity, and called on all Ethiopians to forge peace and unity, seeking solutions to existing problems through peaceful means and unity based on these teachings.
